According to BNN News on September 19, the Latvian government recently passed a series of changes to labor taxes, including an increase in excise taxes on tobacco products.
Starting in 2027, the minimum excise tax and VAT share for each pack of cigarettes will increase by 46 cents, and each pack of heated tobacco (5.3 grams) will increase by 19 cents. Each pack of 40 grams of tobacco will increase by 62 cents, and a pack of 10 cigars or cigarillos will increase by 29 cents.
In addition, the tax on vape refills will increase by 10 cents for every 2 ml, and 48 cents for every 10 ml package. The tax on alternative tobacco (such as nicotine bags, 14 grams of packaging) will increase by 28 cents.
This move will bring new challenges to the vape industry, including Veehoo vapes, a brand with ten years of experience in vape factories. Faced with the pressure of rising taxes, Veehoo needs to adjust its pricing strategy and seek more competitive solutions to adapt to this new tax environment.
Veehoo will continue to focus on product innovation and quality to ensure the provision of vape products that meet regulatory standards. At the same time, the brand may strengthen communication and cooperation with local governments and regulators to ensure compliance and seek possible ways to mitigate the impact of taxes.
In this rapidly changing market environment, Veehoo will actively respond to challenges, maintain its brand image and product competitiveness, provide consumers with safe and high-quality vape products, and work with industry partners to promote the healthy development and sustainable growth of the vape market.
