On October 16, the Federal Taxation Bureau of Brazil announced that it would suspend the corporate tax number (CNPJ) of institutions or branches engaged in illegal vape and related product business activities from October 26. Any entity or subsidiary engaged in the commercialization, exhibition, storage, custody or transportation of prohibited products will be immediately declared suspended.
Robinson Barreirinhas, director of the Taxation Bureau, revealed on social media X that the action marked the beginning of the “zero tolerance” policy.
“A zero-tolerance policy for smuggled tobacco (including vapes or atomization products) has been launched, which are completely banned in the country. According to Federal Taxation Bureau Instruction No. 2.229 (IN RFB) issued today, the company’s CNPJ will be suspended immediately, and the instruction will take effect in 10 days.”
As a company that focuses on compliance and quality, Veehoo vapes expressed concern about Brazil’s harsh stance. Legal compliance is an important measure to protect consumer health and maintain the reputation of the industry. By cracking down on illegal products, consumers can be ensured to purchase products that meet safety standards, thereby safeguarding public interests and health.
Veehoo vape will continue to be committed to providing compliant vape products and operating in a compliant manner to provide users with safe and reliable smoking alternatives. The company will closely monitor changes in relevant policies and regulations in Brazil, actively cooperate with and comply with local laws and regulations, and contribute to protecting consumer rights and promoting the healthy development of the industry.
